Guide for Authors
1. General Information
The Research Journal of Biotechnology (RJB) is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research articles, review articles, and short communications in all areas of biotechnology and life sciences. The journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure scientific accuracy and integrity.
Authors are advised to carefully read and follow these guidelines before submitting their manuscripts. Submissions that do not comply with these instructions may be returned for correction or rejected without review.
Submission of a manuscript confirms that the work:
- Has not been published previously
- Is not under consideration elsewhere
- Has been approved by all contributing authors
2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted
RJB accepts the following types of manuscripts:
2.1 Original Research Articles
These should present novel experimental or theoretical findings with significant contributions to biotechnology and life sciences.
2.2 Review Articles
Comprehensive, critical, and up-to-date reviews of specific topics within the journal’s scope.
2.3 Short Communications
Brief reports of important findings that require rapid dissemination. These should be concise and focused.
3. Manuscript Preparation
3.1 Language and Format
- Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct English
- File format: MS Word (.doc or .docx)
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: Double-spaced
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
- Pages must be numbered consecutively
4. Structure of the Manuscript
4.1 Title Page
Include:
- Full title (concise and informative)
- Names of all authors
- Institutional affiliations
- Corresponding author details (email required)
4.2 Abstract
- Maximum 250 words
- Include objective, methodology, key results, and conclusions
- Avoid references and abbreviations
4.3 Keywords
- Provide 3–6 keywords for indexing
4.4 Introduction
- Background and context
- Literature review
- Clearly defined objectives
4.5 Materials and Methods
- Detailed methodology for reproducibility
- Materials and sources
- Statistical analysis
- Ethical approval (if applicable)
4.6 Results
- Present findings clearly
- Use tables and figures where needed
- Avoid interpretation
4.7 Discussion
- Interpret results
- Compare with previous studies
- Highlight significance and limitations
4.8 Conclusion
- Summarize key findings
- State scientific contribution
4.9 Acknowledgements
- Funding sources
- Contributions not qualifying for authorship

Authors must declare conflicts or include:

5. Tables and Figures
5.1 Tables
- Number consecutively
- Include clear titles
- Place near first citation
5.2 Figures
- High resolution required
- Number consecutively
- Include descriptive legends
- Clearly label axes and units
6. Abbreviations and Units
- Define abbreviations at first use
- Use SI units
- Italicize gene symbols where applicable

Use numerical citation style in order of appearance.

8. Ethical Considerations

RJB strictly prohibits:

- Data fabrication or falsification
- Duplicate submission
- Image manipulation
9. Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools.
- Acceptable similarity index: ≤ 15%
- Manuscripts exceeding this limit may be rejected
